"When do you get "tee'd off?"
Its not just angry golfers who lose their cool...
It isn't just angry golfers who lose their cool and throw their clubs when things don’t go well. This decade may well be remembered as the “Age of rage.” Which is not a compliment! A recent survey has revealed that anger and rage are
on the increase. Before this decade, who ever heard of someone “going postal?” Before this decade who ever heard of “road rage?” Before this decade who
ever heard of children coping with their angry feelings by gunning down at random their classmates at school? In our own community we have seen husbands and
wives in anger kill or hire someone to take the life of their spouse. Why is there such anger and bent up feelings among young and old alike? Not all anger is
bad but anger out of control is sinful. Ephesians 4:26 says, “Be ye angry, and sin not: let not the sun go down upon your wrath.” Where does the practice of self-control and anger-control begin? Maybe it does
start on the golf course. If we as a generation don’t learn to control our anger in the areas of fun and sport how do we expect to control ourselves in the
more irritating areas of life - like personal relationships? Next time you get “tee’d off” about something -
remember the poor example you’re setting and remember - anger out of control is sin!
