"Attention golphers & shoppers!"
Can your relate to this little story about four senior golfers?
It seems a foursome of senior golfers hit the course with waning enthusiasm for the sport. “These hills are getting steeper as the years go by,” one complained. “These fairways seem to be getting longer too,” said another. “The sand traps seem to be bigger than I remember,” said the third senior. But after hearing enough from his buddies, the oldest and wisest of the four, at age 87, piped up and said, “My friends, just be glad we’re still on this side of the grass!” While it has only been a short while since Thanksgiving Day, for many it already seems like something of the long ago past. The stores and parking lots are jammed with shoppers and the nerves of anxious parents seem to be stretching to their limit. The leftovers from Thanksgiving are long gone but hopefully some of the “attitude of gratitude” of that holiday time will still linger and spill over into this season. We all still have a lot to be grateful for, after all, “we are still on this side of the grass!”
