"Thou
Shalt Not Steal..."
Whether it is stealing another person’s ideas
or his money - stealing is still stealing!
In the eyes of God there is no such thing as “petty theft.” All stealing is sin. From the shop-lifter to the armed bank robber, we are simply talking about different degrees of the same type of crime. But there are other ways to commit this sin. Some rob others of their good name and reputation by starting or helping to spread false rumors about them. Some rob their employers by goofing off when they are being paid to work. Some selfishly steal happiness from their children by allowing friction or divorce to disrupt or divide their homes. Others foolishly rob their marriages of the foundation of “trust” by committing the immoral act of fornication. Some steal the future from their unborn children by depriving them of the preciousness of life itself. It is sad to realize that the so called “common thief” is far more common among us than we like to think. “Let him that stole steal no more . . .” (Ephesians 4:28a)
